Our food is made from scratch. Prepared and cooked in the kitchen. Most ingredients are sourced locally, in fact many seasonal fruit and veg – tomatoes, leeks, spinach, cabbages, swedes, etc – come from Hedydd’s own garden.
Welsh Black beef and pork are both reared on farms in the area and supplied by butchers Ken Davies a’i Fab in nearby Crymych.
Homemade desserts such as old favourites sticky toffee pudding and fruit crumble are delicious and deservedly popular, there is also a chocolate and beetroot cake which is gluten-free and dairy-free, whilst Conti’s Ice Cream provide organic ice cream and sorbets. www.contisicecream.com
Very popular takeaway of gluten-free battered fish and chunky chips on Wednesdays and a two joint carvery – beef and pork – on Sundays, served in the 27 seater restaurant and at pub tables. Veggies can enjoy a homemade ‘roast’ which changes frequently. Best book for Sundays.
Our Carvery is open every Sunday from 12.30–2.30pm.
Everything is freshly cooked on the day. Local butcher Ken Davies a’i Fab provides all of our meat and it has traceability. We make our own cauliflower cheese and gravy from ingredients which are gluten free and wheat free. All the vegetables are dairy free except for the mashed potatoes and cauliflower cheese. Your crispy roasted parsnips are cooked with honey and olive oil. It is advisable to book for Sunday lunches.
We have now gluten free desserts which include a fruit crumble, a delicious chocolate beetroot sponge and a treacle apple pudding. The chocolate beetroot sponge and treacle apple pudding are now dairy free and also suitable for vegans.
Gluten, Wheat Free & Dairy Free
We now have a selection of dishes which are suitable for people with food intolerances – gluten free, wheat free, dairy free and sugar free. All these dishes are made on the premises with the exception of the glutenfree Cumberland Sausages which are supplied by the local Butcher Ken Davies a’i Fab. We even have Yorkshire puddings and sage & onion stuffing available in our Sunday Carvery which are made with gluten free ingredients. We now have three gluten free desserts which include a fruit crumble a delicious chocolate beetroot sponge and treacle apple pudding. We have recently added our own Mexican Bean Burger which is gluten-free, dairy-free and egg free, suitable for vegans.
